PARAGUAY AVIAN ECO-REGION ENDEMICS
Paraguay does not have any country endemic species. However as birds do not recognise country boundaries it is more useful zoogeographically to recognise eco-region endemics, species that are endemic to a particular regional habitat type or biome. In Paraguay there are five eco-regions (combining the Low and High Chaco as a single region) each with its own endemic species (the Low Chaco does not have any endemic species but shares some with the High Chaco), lists of which are provided here below.
