OLIVE SPINETAIL Cranioleuca obsoleta ATLANTIC FOREST
This drab little forest spinetail is an uncommon inhabitant of mid-levels of the Atlantic Forest where is rarely still for more than a fraction of a second. Though superficially similar in colouration to the Synallaxis spinetails, this behavioural difference means that it is unlikely to be confused with them. In fact the species was until recently considered conspecific with the Stripe-crowned Spinetail - a species with a completely different plumage pattern and habitat preference!!
