DUSKY-TAILED ANTBIRD Drymophila malura ATLANTIC FOREST
You can stand there for hours at the edge of a dense patch of Chusquea bamboo wondering what the hell is producing that increasingly irritating bouncing ball call. You can see the branches moving as the bird bobs along, but tying to get a good look is driving you insane! The Dusky-tailed Antbird is a common bird but so difficult to see that you would never believe it. They are not shy, on odd occasions I have had birds go about their business happily, oblivious to my presence less than a metre away, but unfortunately those occasions are all too infrequent!
