BAY-RINGED TYRANNULET Phylloscartes sylviolus
ATLANTIC FOREST NEAR THREATENED
Skipping about in the Atlantic Forest canopy is this drab little tyrannulet, so named for the unusual orange "spectacles" that it wears. It is an unobtrusive bird, easily-overlooked and familiarising yourself with its call will greatly enhance your chances of finding it. The bird in the photos was in the process of constructing a cryptic nest when it was photographed.
