AZURE JAY Cyanocorax caeruleus ATLANTIC FOREST NEAR THREATENED
Removed from the Paraguay list in 2013 because of a lack of evidence for its occurrence, the remarkable find of a single bird close to the town of Hohenau in 2018 made it a welcome reinstatement. The only reliable previous report was by Azara over 200 years ago, with most other reports since then being due to confusion with Purplish Jay C. cyanomelas.
