QUEBRACHO CRESTED-TINAMOU Eudromia formosa CHACO
You´ll have to travel to the driest and most inhospitable parts of the Chaco if you want to see this remarkable bird. Habitually occurring in small family groups, their cryptic plumage provides excellent camouflage in the dense, dry, thorny forests that they call home - they are much easier to hear than to see. Their head is adorned by a long, thin, hair-like crest that gives them their common name.
