SPECKLE-BREASTED ANTPITTA Hylopezus nattereri ATLANTIC FOREST
The smallest Paraguayan antpitta, it is localised in distribution, but locally common in areas of dense bamboo within Atlantic Forest. Though his distinctive rising whistled call is easy enough to hear, getting a glimpse of him in the tangly, dark vegetation that he calls home is a different matter. As with all antpittas, persistence sometimes pays.
