Keys to the identification of adults of Paraguayan species of five families of reptile have now been added to the respective family descriptions. These are the amphisbaenids Amphisbaenidae, tortoises Testudinidae, turtles Chelidae, vipers Viperidae, boas Boidae and the coral snakes Elapidae. Additionally a key to all the families and species of Paraguayan Testudines has been added to the page.

BAT CONSERVATION INTERNATIONAL SUPPORTS THE BAT VOLUMES OF THE HANDBOOK OF THE MAMMALS OF PARAGUAY
Bat Conservation International the premier bat conservation organisation worldwide has very kindly agreed to provide images of Paraguayan bats for the Handbook of the Mammals of Paraguay bat volumes. We are very grateful to Merlin Tuttle and Meera Banta for their generosity and contribution.

Considerable updates have been added to the Mammal Handbook accounts over the last month, and new videos and recordings have been added to the bird galleries jointly with the ongoing effort to add citation codes to all the photographs in the vertebrate galleries. These have not been listed on this page.

The species accounts in the mammal handbook have been redesigned to make them more user friendly and accessible to users. The citation codes have been added to all images and each volume of the handbook has been given its own page:

CITATION CODES ADDED TO BIRD GALLERIES
Following a suggestion by the herpetologist Dr Norman Scott about improving the usefulness of the FAUNA Paraguay page for researchers, unique citation codes are now being added to all photographs, video and sound recordings in the bird galleries. Such codes enable material to be cited in scientific publications, eliminating confusion as to which image or sound is being referred to. These codes have been compiled into a database which is available on request. Eventually all material available in the image galleries on the FAUNA Paraguay site will be added to the same database.
