YELLOW-BREASTED CRAKE Poliolimnas flaviventer
A tiny but distinctive little crake. If only that were the end of it then there would be no problem finding him. Like other crakes however this is an extremely hard species to find, preferring to remain within cover in dense riverside vegetation. Nor does it have a particularly distinctive call. Consequently records in Paraguay are few and far between and usually involve accidents, like this individual which flew into a house in the Pantanal.
