RUSTY-MARGINED FLYCATCHER Myiozetetes cayanensis
A surprising addition to the Paraguayan avifauna was made in June 2013 on the banks of the Rio Apa, Departamento Concepción when a small flock of calling Rusty-margined Flycatchers was documented during a FAUNA Paraguay trip, representing the first country record. Distinguishing this species from Social Flycatcher Myiozetetes similis is an extremely complex task, and it is generally agreed that the key to certain identification is the characteristic descending whistle vocalization of this species.
