GREY-BREASTED CRAKE Laterallus exilis
The most distinctive of the Laterallus crakes, this species has been long overlooked and under-recorded throughout its South American range. In fact it is not uncommon, but its small size, plus its habit to sticking to dense, wet, grassy vegetation make it extremely difficult to observe. The specimen pictured is that reported by Clay et al.2004  Cotinga 22: 106-107.
