SCHMIDT´S STREAM FROG Crossodactylus schmidti
The only representative of its family in Paraguay, this tiny little frog of rocky forested streams is known only from one location in Paraguay, Hotel Tirol. The greenish-brown dorsum provides excellent camouflage against rocks as they hold on tight in running water. Eggs are laid in subterranean caves and tadpoles develop in limpid pools.
