ORANGE-LEGGED BUDGETT´S FROG Lepidobatrachus llanensis CHACO
An uncommon aquatic frog predator. This species emerges after rains, lurking under the surface in temporary pools waiting to strike at its pool mates. It is one of three very similar species in this genus that occurs in Paraguay. Note the prominent rounded dorsal shield, orange inguinal spots and vertical ("cat-like") pupil which help identify this species.
