CHACO SAND LIZARD Liolaemus chacoensis
A small lizard found only in the southern Chaco region. It belongs to a genus that is diverse and speciose in Argentina, though only two species make it as far north as Paraguay. This one barely crosses the Pilcomayo River into the xerophytic areas of the Chaco, where it can be found amongst fallen logs.
