FAUNA Paraguay Gallery of Ant-lion (Myrmeleontidae) Images
Note the short antennae with hooked clubs. The large-jawed larvae construct "sand traps" and prey largely on ants, hence the common name. A total of 14 species are known to occur in Paraguay. Those marked with * are represented by images in the image gallery. We currently have images of 5 species:
