BLACK-AND-WHITE HAWK-EAGLE Spizaetus melanoleucus
Perhaps the most handsome member of this genus of pretty spectacular large eagles. This species is a rarely encountered inhabitant of gallery forests, which despite being pretty widespread across the country seems to be nowhere regularly observed. The individual below photographed by Hans Hostettler of Pro Cosara terrorised a resident troop of capuchin monkeys during March 2015, its persistent attacks accompanied by screams of fear from the terrified primates.
