BARE-FACED IBIS Phimosus infuscatus
With his naked face, wholly dark plumage and stunted legs this ibis is easily recognised, at least if you see him well! Its a common species, often in flocks though not usually including more than 8 or 10 birds. This species is almost silent, leading to his other, less often used, common name - the Whispering Ibis.
