SOCIAL FLYCATCHER Myiozetetes similis

Looking like a mini Great Kiskadee, the Social Flycatcher actually isn´t particularly closely related. However, a strange habit has been noticed for Social Flycatchers to nest close to the larger Kiskadees. Quite why this might be the case is unclear, perhaps the smaller flycatchers benefit from the protection given by the proximity of their ultra-aggressive neighbours, who drive away any large bird that approaches? Regardless, in a nest I found I noticed a certain amount of antagonism between the two flycatchers, who looked more like the neighbours from hell than bed fellows!
