SPOTTED KEELBACK Helicops leopardinus
An aquatic snake that is mostly active at night and feeds almost entirely on fish which it swallows head first. It is an excellent swimmer and able to inhabit even fast-flowing waterways. This species gives birth to live young - it is viviparous. This is an aggressive species which reaches a maximum length of around 1m.
