SNOWY EGRET Egretta thula
The most graceful of the small egrets, the slender Snowy resents the fact that he is often confused with the altogether less cultured Cattle Egret. Snowy is an active feeder of waterside habitats, often flicking the wings to startle prey into action before stabbing at them with the dagger-like bill. When he takes flight look out for his yellow "slippers" on otherwise black legs.
