CRANWELL´S HORNED FROG Ceratophrys cranwelli CHACO
Popularly believed to be venomous because of its strong warning colouration, Cranwell´s Horned Toad inspires respect with his defensive display, bloating himself up like a balloon to increase his already impressive size and launching mock attacks at the aggressor. Found only during the rainy season, they spend the rest of the year in an underground cocoon, reducing their metabolic rate and breathing pattern to cope with the cramped conditions. Because of its unusual appearance this species has earned the nickname "Pacman Frog".
