RED-BILLED SCYTHEBILL Campylorhamphus trochilirostris
The enormously-long, curved bill of this species may look a bit over the top, but its a highly-evolved tool for picking juicy morsels from out of the cracks in tree bark. This species prefers dry forests and is most numerous in the Chaco. It is replaced in humid forest by the much rarer Black-billed Scythebill.
