BICOLOURED HAWK Accipiter bicolor
According to some sources this rampant bird predator is mimicked by the smaller, weaker Rufous-thighed Kite for protection from mobbing. True or not the Bicoloured Hawk is a formidable predator, with lightening fast reflexes and lethal talons. The bird in (FPAVE320PH - FPAVE321PH) was taken after it rested following a torpedo-like attack on a group of Golden-collared Macaws. The macaws managed to escape in a cloud of feathers, screaming in terror, leaving the Hawk to contemplate what might have been.
