RUFOUS-THIGHED KITE Harpagus diodon
The Rufous-thighed Kite is an insect-eating bird, one of the more attractive members of the raptor family. Adults bear a striking resemblance to the Bicoloured Hawk, a larger, more powerful bird hunter. According to the proposed theory the Kite may even mimic the Hawk, using the angry, aggressive image of the Hawk to scare away birds that come to mob him in the tree-tops, disturbing his food and otherwise making life difficult for him!
