GREY PLOVER Pluvialis squatarola
North Americans call him the Black-bellied Plover, but while he in Paraguay there is no black belly in sight and Grey Plover seems a much more suitable name. This is a rare migrant in Paraguay, much less common than the American Golden Plover which often occurs alongside him. Note also that this species is fatter and stockier than the Golden and has a black underwing.
