MELYRIDAE - SOFT-WINGED FLOWER BEETLES
As you may guess from the name these beetles are attracted to flower heads where they feed on pollen, but also other insects that are attracted to the flowers. Larvae are predacious. The body is covered with a series of erect hairs which give it a "soft" appearance and the antennae are inserted above the mandibles on the front of the head.
