RED-SPOTTED BURROW FROG Leptodactylus laticeps
A fantastically-coloured frog, his red blotches actually act as a warning of his unpalatability - aposematic colouration. A large species, he spends the day underground in vizcachera or rodent burrows and emerges at night to hunt smaller frogs. This species is confined to the driest areas of the Chaco.
