SHORT-TAILED HAWK Buteo brachyurus
A small Buteo that is distinctly uncommon in Paraguay and in fact easily confused with the White-tailed Hawk. Note however that the tail of this species appears mostly dark even in bright light. This species is usually found in forested areas and is most often seen when soaring.
