WHITE-TAILED HAWK Buteo albicaudatus
Usually seen patrolling around with a low, "flapless" flight, this handsome hawk can be immediately identified by his white tail. He has a wide distribution that streteches from the southern States round down to Argentina and in Paraguay he reaches his greatest abundance in the Chaco - though he occurs throughout the country. Males can be distinguished from females by their white, as opposed to black, throats.
