BLACKISH GRASS MOUSE Thaptomys nigrita
A small, dark vole-like mouse with an exceptionally short tail about half the head and body length. This is an aggressive, territorial species despite its small size. It is an inhabitant of humid forests being active diurnally. The species was formerly included in the genus Akodon.
