WHITE-WINGED SWALLOW Tachycineta albiventer
An uncommon swallow whose distribution is tied to major rivers. They fly over the water, tracing long, meandering courses that frequently take them out of sight, only to return to re-trace the same route. Unlike many Paraguayan swallows it does not undertake migrations, it is a resident species, though it might make local movements in response to water level changes.
