LITTLE YELLOW-SHOULDERED BAT Sturnira lilium
This common, fruit-eating bat is most easily recognised because it lacks a uropatagium, the tail membrane present to varying degrees in all other Paraguayan members of the order. Note also the rows of "pimples" on the lips. Despite the common name the yellow shoulders are not particularly useful for identification, they are present in some individuals, absent in others and may even be cinnamon or brownish in colouration on occasion. This is a humid forest species.
