RUSTY-COLLARED SEEDEATER Sporophila collaris
Attractively painted in black, white and orange the “Domino” as the Paraguayans call him, is one of the easiest of the seedeaters to identify. Even females, usually such a headache for birders, are so warmly-coloured and boldly-marked on the wing as to be instantly recognisable. The Rusty-collared Seedeater isn't as gregarious as most of his congeners, he prefers to go it alone, though odd birds may loosely associate with other species in their grassy wetland habitat.
