TIGER RAT SNAKE Spilotes pullatus
A large, powerful and distinctive snake, the Tiger Rat Snake is an efficient and fast-moving predator that can reach 3m in length. He is a semi-arboreal snake with a wide distribution from Mexico to northern Argentina. He is not venomous but is capable of giving a nasty bite if molested! The Tiger Rat Snake is found mainly in forested areas, though he shows no preference for either dry or humid areas.
