KING VULTURE Sarcoramphus papa
If the word handsome can ever be applied to a vulture, then I suppose the King Vulture is the best candidate. A magestic black-and-white bird, its head adorned by grotesque multi-coloured wattles, it is the least often encountered of the regularly-occurring Paraguayan species. Unlike other vultures it leads a solitary lifestyle, and only one individual is ever present at a carcass, easily dominating the other scavengers which scatter in its wake.
