ROADSIDE HAWK Rupornis magnirostris
Sitting quietly with head bowed on a prominent perch at a roadside - this buzzard-like raptor isn´t called a Roadside Hawk for nothing! In fact he is one of the commonest and most widespread Paraguayan raptors, able to adapt to a variety of habitats from arid Chaco to lush humid forest. Throughout his range he is variable, but in flight can always be distinguished by the orange windows on both sides of the primaries.
