WING-BARRED PIPRITES Piprites chloris
But for his series of off-key whistles, this fat little bird would easily go unnoticed in the midstorey of the humid forest. Though manakin-like in general appearance, he is perhaps more flycatcher-like in behaviour, a mixture of traits that up until recently had taxonomists confused. He is now considered to belong to the newly-defined "Schiffornis Assemblage".
