YELLOW-BILLED CARDINAL Paroaria capitata
The wetland cardinal, you wonīt see this species far from a riverbank. That said he can be equally as abundant as his crested cousin in the right habitat. Cardinals are so named because their red heads reminded early visitors to South America of the red headwear worn by cardinals in the Catholic church.
