PAMPAS DEER Ozotoceros bezoarcticus
One of the rarest deer in Paraguay, this small species inhabits open grassy areas - a custom that has historically made it an easy target for hunters. As a result it has disappeared from much of its range. Typical of dry areas, this species is adapted to a life without water and is able to subsist simply by consuming morning dew.
