PANTANAL CAT Lynchailurus braccatus
A rare cat of open grassy habitats, best identified by its black legs and long, dense fur. This species has undergone a series of name changes in the last few years and has previously been known as Oncifelis, Felis or Leopardus colocolo. A recent revision of the "colocolo" species complex found the northern populations to be specifically distinct and gave them the name Pantanal Cat Lynchailurus braccatus.
