PALE-LEGGED HORNERO Furnarius leucopus
Up in the far north of the Paraguayan Pantanal lives a very particular, very orange species of Hornero that doesn´t occur in the rest of Paraguay. Few birders make it up there to see him, and even those that do will find him shier and more elusive than other Horneros, preferring to forage on the ground in forest undergrowth. They build similar oven-nests to other Horneros, even occasionally using abandoned nests of Rufous Hornero to avoid having to start building from scratch.
