GREEN ANACONDA Eunectes murinus
Growing up to 6m in length the enormous Green Anaconda is one of the giants of the snake world. Capable of swallowing animal up to the size of deer and capybara whole, they have even been reported to swallow adult caiman! It is a diurnal snake, usually seen sunning itself on the banks of rivers, and whilst it is generally docile and approachable some odd individuals are surprisingly aggressive. Though not poisonous, as with all large snakes it is in your interests to avoid being bitten! This species is distributed mainly in north-eastern Paraguay.
