SUBFAMILY HEMILEUCINAE: GENUS EUBERGIA
Eubergia are small moths with distinctive, complex black-and-white patterned forewings. Discal spots are small and solid. Two species are found in Paraguay, boetifica in the Chaco, west of the Rio Paraguay, and caisa to the east. The "hairy" prothorax is obvious in lateral view and its colouration is useful in distinguishing between the species. Note also the predominate colour on the leading edge of the wing, white in caisa and dark in boetifica. Females have darker hindwings than males.
