CROWNED SLATY-FLYCATCHER Empidonomus aurantioatrocristatus
Sometimes placed in the monotypic genus Griseotyrannus, rumour has it that the people who named this bird were intent on giving it the longest name of any bird on the planet! The similarity of the juvenile to Empidonomus flycatchers means that it is probably more closely-related to them than previously thought. It doesn´t go very far towards making the scientific name less of a tongue-twister though!
