PLANALTO WOODCREEPER Dendrocolaptes platyrostris
The Planalto Woodcreeper is one of the larger Paraguayan woodcreepers, and one that is bound to have you scratching your head. It is extremely similar to White-throated Woodcreeper in part of its range, while in another part of its range it more closely resembles Black-banded Woodcreeper! Fortunately they are suckers for a recording of their voice, responding instantly and helping confirm their identity.
