TATAUPA TINAMOU Crypturellus tataupa
One of the commoner small tinamous in Paraguay, the handsome Tataupa is, like most of relatives, easier to hear than he is to see! He uses a wide range of forested habitats, and he isnt fussy whether it is humid or dry - you´re as likely to bump into him in the Chaco as you are in the Atlantic forest. Take care with his identification though! The Small-billed Tinamous is very similar. If you get a good enough look check out its legs - if they are bright red its Small-billed, dull purple and its Tataupa!
