SHORT-TAILED ANTTHRUSH Chamaeza campanisona
Like the other members of this family this species figures on the list of many visiting birds as a tick in the "heard" column - its bubbling call being one of the most commonly heard in undisturbed Atlantic Forest areas. This species does not respond well to playback, leisurely homing in on the source of the call in an arching path - if you want to see it that way you´ll need a lot of patience. You are more likely to disturb one on a forest trail during the early morning, its loud alarm call giving its identity away.
