STILT SANDPIPER Calidris himantopus
Well-named for its lanky legs the Stilt Sandpiper is another migrant North American sandpiper that passes through Paraguay. A distinctive species, it was formerly placed in the now defunct genus Micropalama, but is now considered to be a slightly-unusual Calidrid.
