SILVER TEAL Anas versicolor
Sitting on a mud-bank with his bill tucked under his wing the Silver Teal doesn´t look much, but once he turns around to take a closer look at you, his bright blue and yellow bill really catches the eye. Silver Teals are not common ducks in Paraguay, they are usually found alone or in small flocks. Males and females are very similar, but males usually have more yellow on the bill (the bird facing left in Fig 1 is a female!).
