NARROW-NOSED AMPHISBAENID Amphisbaena angustifrons
Amphisbaenids are blind, subterranean reptiles, superficially resembling earthworms. Given their burrowing habits they are rarely seen, though occasionally exceptionally wet conditions can drive them to the surface. Identification to species level is extremely complex and requires minute examination of scale patterns in some cases.
